NOOOOOOOOOOO!

From the Star Tribune:

The Twins have spoken with the agents for righthander Sidney Ponson, a career 80-96 pitcher who was 4-5 with a 6.25 ERA last season in stints with the Yankees and Cardinals, both of whom released him. He was 17-12, 3.75 in 2003 with Baltimore and San Francisco. The Twins likely would sign him to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training.

Yep, he's a real keeper. 4-5 last year with a 6.25? Sure! Why not! You know, I'm pretty sure my cousin who used to play high school baseball is also available. Do they want his number too?

I threw up a little in my mouth when I read that in the Strib this morning.

I am taking solace in the fact that even if he does get the invite to spring training, he is a serious long shot to make the team.

I am still holding out hope for Jason Jennings as well. Fingers crossed.

Oh no! This is a perfect storm situation, as you all have no doubt heard that the morning after pill has just recently been released over-the-counter, meaning there's no way Sidney will be sufficiently focused to live up to the lofty standards he's set for himself...

After signing Ken Harvey, it can only get better. Hey, we love fat baseball players, I can't wait to bring Mo Vaughn out of retirement.
